Welcome to Ajax
High School's Ajax Knowbotics (a.k.a. Oh! Know).
In this team of students, we work to create a robot to particpate & win in
the FIRST Robotics Competition.On
September 24 (2005), the team headed out to Wonderland for the FIRST robotics
off-season competition, and placed 2nd out of 23 competing schools
While the team had high expectations of reaching the quarter finals,
no one imagined reaching the level of team work and success that they did.
Even after having the robot topple over, the arm break off and a wheel nearly
shatter during the finals, they held on to play defense for their alliance.
Placing second in this competition has given new confidence to the team, by
being the highest placing with a large robot. All divisions of the team are in full swing now with plans for next season
being laid out, repairs being made to the robot, and spirit and fundraising
developing action plans. Everyone hopes that this win will be the start of
many more trophies and medals for the coming 2006 year.

It's been a good long two months since anything has been posted. On March 31st to Arpil 1st, 2006, the team came back making a mark in AHS Robotics history as we competed with more than 73 other teams some as far as Great Britain and California at the Greater Toronto Regional. Meeting with other teams and putting our best foot forward, it became a competition that everyone will remember.
Besides that, an update to the 2006 Competition page has been added.
There is one more meeting to attend on April 24th. It's important that everyone attends this meeting.

Oh boy, it's the start of a new semester and the deadline for our next competition is coming closer and closer. We'll try to have a meeting every night until the date we have to ship off the robot to Missisauga, but during that time we're hoping to get the robot up and ready.
A new section has been added to show the competitions for 2006 and hopefully this gallery script is validated to be put on the website. It'll be nice to show everyone what we've been doing at our meetings and the competition!

The robotics team made it into 8th place at the Vex Competition. We've met some wonderful school teams, one of which has aided us when we are in need. There were some mishaps at the end of every match we had, but the Knowbot made it through (even though we didn't score any points). Too bad the robotics team didn't earn the team spirit award, but we had fun making the crowd cheer~.
From the introduction of the Vex Competition at the Ontario Science Center, we have learned about the goal and the game for the next comeptition on February 21st. The game and the rules for the 2006 competition will be added soon.
Armed with knowledge and good humour, we hope to be ready and win for the next competition.
Robotics Team: There will be a meeting everyday this week and there will be a lock-in on this Friday's meeting (a.k.a. Parents' Night 7pm-9pm).

Spelling mistakes and code clean-up has been done courtesy of the knowbotics team members who spot them, including Jason Cochrane (the one who designed the site last year).
There will not be a meeting today after the Christmas concert, but there is a meeting in the morning during 1st and 2nd period. Have a happy holiday~! Don't do something illegeal or violent now.
